Neelam is the popular term for all Blue Sapphires. Neelam is a remedial gemstone for Saturn or Shani. Among all remedial gems Neelam is considered the most powerful gemstone. If it suits a person well it can take his/her career, wealth and fame to great heights. But, if it is not suitable then it can give equally powerful harmful results too. These results can vary from loss of health, wealth, litigations, imprisonment to a loss of limb or even death.The term 'Khooni Neelam' means 'A Bloody Blue Sapphire' in its literal translation. 'Khooni' term is also used for a killer. This gives this variety of Neelam a mystical and also terrifying aura. People who usually like to wear a Neelam are quite hesitant to wear a Khooni Neelam. A Khooni Neelam is actually either a purple sapphire or a blue sapphire which has red or pink coloured spots or streaks in it. This gives it the powers of Mars (Mangal) too along with the powers of Saturn (Shani). These two are the most malefic of all planets and are responsible for all accidents, wars and unnatural deaths. Therefore, only a person who has well placed Mars and Saturn can safely wear a Khooni Neelam.

Will a NEELAM suit me?
I suggest that you should wear a yellow Sapphire for Brihaspati in a gold ring on index finger of left hand. And, you should also wear a moonstone on the little finger of left hand in a silver ring. The moonstone is for Moon.
