In Jyotish, Jupiter and Mercury are both considered as the naturally beneficial planets but they are mutually enemic to each other. This means that they tend to counter each others strengths.
In the horoscopes where Jupiter is a functional benefic the Mercury becomes a functional malefic. Similarly, Jupiter becomes a functional malefic where Mercury is a functional benefic.
Jupiter demands unquestioned authority and obedience. It preaches traditional knowledge which must be believed without any debates or arguments. Mercury is perpetually curious and likes to ask questions. It likes to defy the blind beliefs imposed by Jupiter. Therefore, these two are considered enemies.
According to Hindu mythology, Budh (Mercury) is the son of illegitimate son of Chandra ( Moon) and Tara, wife or Brihaspati (Jupiter). This is why Brihaspati and Budh are not on cordial terms ever.
Moon represents the mind. Jupiter represents belief. Mercury is logic. Logic is born by the hidden play of mind despite the dictates of belief.
Yellow Sapphire is a Jyotish gemstone for Jupiter. Its another popular name is Pukhraj. The Emerald is a Jyotish gemstone for Mercury. It is also called Panna. These two are counted as precious gems. They are much sought after by those who like to wear Jyotish gemstones in rings or pendants. But, You can wear only one of them at a time depending on the planets in your horoscope. Wearing them together can either produce almost zero results or it can create quite conflicting energies which can cause more harm than good to the wearer. You should wear a Panna (emerald) in a gold ring on little finger. Do not ever wear a Pukhraj.

My date of birth is 16 dec 1980, Time 01.58 am and place Dhuri-Punjab (India). Currently, my Venus dasha is prevailing and being Kanya lagna I have been suggested by an astrologer to wear a Diamond, Panna & Pukhraj for spiritual, dharmic and career progress. I read in your article not to wear Pukhraj with Panna and Daimond. Can you please advise me if I should wear these or not or what I should wear for spiritual karmic, dharmic and career progress. I was suggested that because Jupiter is in my Lagna, and lagna lord in D10 and in 10th house in D9.
Can you please advise me for the above.
Thank you.

My dob is 7th May 1975, time is 9:15 AM, place is Mhow, M.P, India. Which stone should I wear, why and how long? Please guide me. I am facing a lot of challenges during Mercury retrogrades. Can that be tackled simply without stones? I had worn a Pukhraj previously. Another astrologer suggested an emerald. A lot of confusions. Please suggest.
Looking at the placement of planets in your horoscope and their mutual interactions, only one planet comes out as properly beneficial for you. It is Mercury (Budh). You should wear an Emerald (Panna) for this graha. This gemstone should be of a good quality, natural and an untreated one. Wear the Panna in a gold ring on the little finger of right hand.

My DOB is 14th-May-1977, TOB is 09.30 AM and place of birth is Veraval, Bandar, Gujarat, India.
I would like to know which gem stone is suitable for me.

Your horoscope has a Simha lagna. You should remove the Panna (Emerald) immediately. It is doing no good to you. Jupiter is partially beneficial for you. You can keep wearing its gemstone, the Pukhraj (Yellow Sapphire).
But, for best results you should wear a Ruby and a Sindoori coral too. These two gems can also be worn on one single ring or pendant. They will work together with the yellow sapphire and will strengthen its effects too.

My DOB is 15th Sep 1977, POB is Ranchi, Jharkhand, India and TOB is 4.40 am. I have been suggested to wear Pukharaj and Panna both. I am wearing these since last two months but nothing much has changed. Through your website I came to know that we should not wear both these gems. Can you suggest me whether I should wear them both or any one out of these two gems?
Thanks,
Swati
