Brihaspati has changed signs today, leaving Vrishchik and entering Dhanu. Dhanu or Sagittarius, as it is called in the West, is Jupiter's own sign. it is a fire-sign. Jupiter's nature becomes more energetic, fiery, adamant and uncompromising in this sign. During this transit in Dhanu, Brihaspati will be accompanied by Ketu for around eleven months, till 23rd September 2020, and by Saturn too for initial three months till 24th January 2020.

Brihaspati will transit in Dhanu rashi till 20th November 2020. During this period it will be in a three month long short transit in Makar (Capricorn) rashi too from 30th March 2020 to 30th June 2020. Guru will move to Capricorn on 30th March 2020 where it will join Shani. Then, it will turn retrograde on 14th May 2020 and will return to Dhanu rashi in retrograde motion on 30th June 2020. It will become direct on 13th September 2020 and will then re-enter Makar rashi on 20th November 2020.

The previous transit of Brihaspati in Dhanu rashi was from 22nd November 2007 to 9th December 2008. The next major transit of Jupiter in Sagittarius after 2020 will be from 15th October 2031 to 23rd October 2032. In March-April 2019 too, Jupiter was in Sagittarius for a short period from 29th March to 23rd April. A similar transit will take place in 2031 too from 17th February 2031 to 14th June 2031. But, such transits are minor transits when Jupiter fast forwards into the next sign and then retrogrades back to the original sign.

From 5th November 2019 to 24th January 2020 Saturn will be with Jupiter and Ketu in Dhanu rashi. Ketu will continue to stay in Sagittarius and will leave this sign on 23rd September 2020 to enter Scorpio. Jupiter-Ketu-Saturn combination in any sign is a rare phenomenon. In last two centuries this combination was created very sparingly. The dates were as follows-

30th October 1961 to 24th February 1962 - in Makar (Capricorn). Interestingly, all seven physical planets were together with Ketu in Makar rashi on 4th February 1962.

30th June 1882 to 30th July 1882 - in Vrishabh (Taurus)

26th September 1859 to 27th September 1859 - in Karka (Cancer)

8th March 1802 to 2nd October 1802 - in Simha (Leo)

Some notable historical events during such combinations of Saturn-Jupiter-Ketu were -

- 19th December 1961 - India liberated and annexed the former Portuguese Indian territories of Goa, Daman and Diu.
- 11th-13th July 1882 - British Royal Navy bombarded Alexandria in Egypt and gained control of Suez canal. The British then invaded Egypt and occupied Egypt till 1956.
- 22nd July 1802 - Gia Long captures Hanoi finally completing the unification of Vietnam.
- 2nd August 1802 - Napoleon Bonaparte is declared the First Consul of France.

In comparison, the Ketu-Jupiter yuti is formed more frequently. The last such a combination was from 17th May 2012 to 23rd December 2012 in Vrishabh rashi. The next yuti of Brihaspati-Ketu after 2020 will be from 31st October 2026 to 5th December 2026 in Simha (Leo).

But, in Dhanu rashi this yuti of Brihaspati-Ketu has happened only three times in the last three centuries.

- 31st December 1888 to 20th January 1890
- 27th February 1853 to 1st May 1853
- 5th November 1758 to 4th April 1759, 16th June 1759 to 22nd November 1759

There is not enough historical data for 1758-59 and 1853 combinations of Jupiter-Ketu in Dhanu but we have good well recorded data for the 1888-89 yuti. Interestingly, in the 1889-90 yuti some notable world leaders and famous personalities were born -

- 12th January 1889 - Mirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad, 2nd Caliph of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam, in British India.
- 1st April 1889 - Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, founder of the Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), in India.
- 16th April 1889 - Charlie Chaplin, famous film actor and director.
- 20th April 1889 - Adolf Hitler, dictator of Nazi Germany
- 28th April 1889 - Antonio de Oliveira Salazar, dictator of Portugal
- 25th May 1889 - Igor Sikorsky, inventor of the helicopter.
- 14th July 1889 - Ante Pavelic, fascist dictator of Croatia.
- 14th November 1889 - Jawaharlal Nehru, first prime minister of India.

These are just a few of the famous and infamous people who were born in 1889. The list is quite long. Looking at them, we can easily guess that many of the children born in the next 13 months will play a major role in shaping the future in 21st and 22nd centuries.

Some major events during this 1889-90 yuti were as follows-

- Four US states were created in 1889. They were North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Washington.
- 15th January 1889 – The Coca-Cola Company which was then known as the Pemberton Medicine Company was incorporated.
- 15th February 1889 - The Meiji Constitution was adopted in Japan.
- 23rd March 1889 -  Mirza Ghulam Ahmad founds the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in British India.
- 31st March 1889 - The Eiffel Tower in Paris is inaugurated. It was formally opened for public on 6th May 1889.
- 22nd April 1889 - In the Oklahoma Land Rush in USA around 50000 people rushed to claim their piece out of two million acres of land.
- 15th November 1889 - Monarchy was abolished in Brazil and the First Brazilian Republic was created.

Ketu and Jupiter together in any sign give rise to extreme levels of ambition, steadfastness, and radicalism and to some extent fanaticism too. Several great leaders who have brought unprecedented and long term changes through their famous or infamous actions have been born with this combination in their horoscopes. With Ketu-Jupiter in Dhanu rashi these traits are even more pronounced.

In this 2019-20 transit of Jupiter in Dhanu rashi another interesting combination of planets is forming which is quite volatile and has a potential of generating highly damaging acts of violence, terrorism or war. A combination of Jupiter-Ketu- Mars in Sagittarius. Such a combination did not form during the previous Jupiter-Ketu transit in Dhanu in 1889-90 and 1853. But, It was there in 1758-59 transit from 22nd November 1758 to 30th December 1758.

In next 13 months, we can expect great changes in political, social, economic and situations all around the world. Man made and natural calamities of extreme kind may cause havoc in several parts of the world. Such changes will be more important and relevant for USA as this nation's horoscope has Sagittarius ascendant and the present dasha period is of Rahu-Jupiter which ends on 3rd November 2020.

Revolutionary and extremist thinking and acts will become more prominent. The financial ups and downs will be more disturbing and destabilising for most of the people. Politicians will be more eager to use force to suppress the voices of dissent instead of giving way to the popular choices. Such politicians can use war and national security as tools to divert attention from the social, political and economic problems. But, the suppressed masses will raise their voices and this can result in severely violent incidents too.

For India too, this transit is quite crucial because the transit of Brihaspati in Dhanu in the past has laid foundations for long term economical and political problems.

The effects of this transit of Jupiter in Dhanu rashi on the twelve ascendants and moon signs will be as follows -

1. Aries - Mesh: Initially, sudden, disturbing, but positive changes, then, later on good stability and progress in work; frequent and fruitful travels including pilgrimages; good health; increase in body weight; heightened interest in spirituality, religion, arts and music; high creativity and intuition; highly favorable period for migrating to distant cities or nations; good progress in academics.
