What is Navamsa in Jyotish? Print

Navamsa is the ninth division of the planetary degrees. Nav=Nine, Amsa=Part. Each sign is divided into nine parts where each part is of 3 degrees and 20 minutes. Then, depending on the placement of the planets in these divisions a new chart is created which is called the Navamsa.

If the Lagna chart is the tree then the Navamsa is the fruit. It is crucial to study the Navamsa too to make a correct prediction.

Navamsa is used in analysing yogas related to marriage too.
