Neeraj asks: I want to know whether I should wear a pukhraj with a Neelam or a diamond with Neelam. My ongoing mahadasha is Jupiter mahadasha which started in 2005 and the ongoing antardasha is Shukra antardasha. I am already wearing a Neelam and a Pukhraj since past 3 years. Is this combination suitable or not? I also want to wear a diamond. Please guide me accordingly. My date of birth is 26th January 1983, place of birth is Katni in Madhya Pradesh, India, and the time of birth is 00:10 Hrs.

Astrologer Ashutosh: Neeraj! You were born under Tula lagna and Vrishabh janma rashi. You have a fine horoscope with well placed exalted Saturn in the ascendant and a sign-interchange between Saturn and Venus. Venus too is well placed in Kumbh rashi in the fifth house of intellect and education.

In your horoscope, Saturn and Venus play more important and beneficial roles than the other six planets. Jupiter is not a beneficial planet for you and wearing its gemstone is not going to do any good to you. It will instead cause great losses of money and health problems. I suggest that you remove the Pukhraj (yellow sapphire) immediately.

You should keep wearing the Neelam which is a gemstone for Shani. But, ensure that it is of the right weight and that it is set in a silver ring or locket and not in gold. Keep purifying the Neelam once a year when Shani is in direct motion.
