Navamsa |
Navamsa is the ninth division of the planetary degrees. Nav=Nine, Amsa=Part. Each sign is divided into nine parts where each part is of 3 degrees and 20 minutes. Then, depending on the placement of the planets in these divisions a new chart is created which is called the Navamsa. |
Nirayan |
Nirayan is derived from two words of Sanskrit. Nir = Without, and Ayan or Anayamsa = The angle of the tilt of the earth's axis.
Jyotish does not take into consideration the Ayan while calculating the horoscopes therefore this method is called Nirayan method of astrology.
