Samsaptak |
A Samsaptak yoga is a yoga where two planets are in opposite signs to each other. For example, if Sun is in Aries and Mars is in Libra then these two are said to be in a Samsaptak yoga. This yoga is also called an 'Opposition'. |

A Sapphire is a gemstone of corundum variety. Its basic chemical composition is Aluminium Oxide. It measures 9 on Moh's scale of hardness of stones. Sapphires are found in many colors namely Yellow, Blue, White, Purple, Pink, Orange and Green. The most abundant colors in sapphires are yellow and blue. Purple, Pink and Green colors are very rare in sapphires. |
Saturn |
Saturn is also called Shani in Jyotish. Saturn rules over Aquarius and Capricorn. Saturn is exalted in the sign of Libra or Tula. The gem for Saturn is Neelam or Blue Saphire. Neelam is worn in a silver ring on middle finger. |
Sun |
Sun is a star as per astronomy. But in Jyotish Sun is counted as one of the nine planets which are studied when analyzing a horoscope. Sun rules over the sign Leo. Its gemstone is Ruby. Sun denotes confidence, dominance, government favors and overall good luck. |
Swagrah |
Swa = Own, Grah = House. A planet in its own house. Such a planet is considered in a powerful and positive state. Only the seven physical planets have a swagrah. Rahu and Ketu do not have an swagrah as they are shadow planets and not physical planets. Following are the Own Houses (Swagrahas) of the seven physical grahas (planets) - 1. Sun - Leo (Simha) 2.
