Mercury (Budh), finally ends its prolonged stay in the fire sign Sagittarius (Dhanu) and enters the Earth sign ruled by Saturn, Capricorn (Makar). It enters Capricorn in the early hours of today.

The next transit of Mercury in Sagittarius will be on 26th November 2010. Then, once more this planet will be in a Yuti with Rahu and it will become retrograde too in this sign of Dhanu.

The transit in Capricorn brings Mercury in a Samsaptak yoga with Mars and in a Yuti with Sun. As Venus moves to Aquarius today it will be in Yuti with Mercury for some hours only. The Sun-Mercury Yuti forms a Budh Aditya yoga in the sign of Makar which will be there till Sun moves to Aquarius on 13th February 2010.

These changes will make Mercury very volatile. The strong and burning company of Sun and Mars will affect all aspects of life which are governed by Mercury. Crackdowns on media are possible. Violence against journalists and reporters will make news. Media will become a tool for settling personal scores.

Government and Military spending will come under scanner. Some big financial scams can come to light. Communication media, telecom sector and internet will be affected negatively. Regulations by governments on internet can take place.  

The signs which will be negatively affected by this transit are Gemini (Mithun) and Kanya (Virgo). Mithun sign will be affected more. Health problems, injuries and accidents are possible.  

The signs which will benefit by this transit are Aries, Cancer and Capricorn.

In personal life, people will become very touchy. It will be an effort to avoid getting into any arguments. Do not provoke and do not get provoked.

 Mercury will be in transit in Capricorn till 26th February 2010 when it enters Aquarius.
