Today Jupiter became fully combust as it became exactly conjunct with Sun in the sign of Aquarius (Kumbh). These two planets came together at 15° 45' in Aquarius today, 28th February 2010.

Every year Jupiter gets nearer to Sun in degrees and becomes non-visible in the glare of the Sun. This happens when Jupiter is in the far side of its orbit with Sun positioned between Jupiter and the Earth.

As per Jyotish texts, a combustion makes this highly beneficial planet quite powerless and this also reduces the protective effects of Jupiter on the life on Earth.

The signs which are more affected by this combustion of Jupiter are Gemini (Mithun), Leo (Simha), Virgo (Kanya), Sagittarius (Dhanu) and Pisces (Meen). Gemini and Virgo have interpersonal, family happiness and profession related setbacks. Leo, Sagittarius and Pisces have health, prosperity and longevity related difficulties.

This combustion will not be as harmful as the usual combustion of a planet is due to the protective influences of Venus and Mercury placed together with Jupiter in the sign of Kumbh.

Jupiter ( Brihaspati) will become powerful once again as it comes out of the close circle of Surya's glare on 20th March 2010. Brihaspati will become retrograde in Pisces (Meen) on 23rd July 2010. That is the time when it will be very close to Earth and it will be giving its best possible beneficial effects on the life on earth.
