Venus is combust due to its proximity to Sun in degrees. Venus becomes half combust when it comes within 15 degrees of Sun and is considered fully combust when it is within 8 degrees of Sun.
As of today, Venus is in transit in Sagittarius (Dhanu) with Rahu, Sun and Mercury. Venus is within 4 degrees of Sun and these two planets will be conjunct on 12th January 2010.
When Venus is combust it loses much of its powers. This period of combustion of Venus is not considered auspicious in India and no marriages, grih pravesh (entering new home) or purchase of vehicle is done in it. The reason behind this is quite obvious as Venus is the Karak or these aspects of life. Venus will come out of this combustion and become powerful again only in mid-March 2010.
Mercury is retrograde in Sagittarius and Mars is retrograde in Cancer. Some interesting ups and downs will be seen in next couple of weeks in stock markets around the world. The majorly affected stocks will be of IT firms and of telecom sector.
Rahu-Sun-Venus-Mercury combination has the full potential of giving rise to difficulties related to banking sector and governance. Mercury will give company to Rahu in Sagittarius for an extra long period this time. Mercury exits Sagittarius on 6th February 2010.
This last quarter of financial year 2009-10 will see major rise and falls in stock exchanges around the world. Rumors will spread like wildfire. Banking sector will suffer major losses owing to unwise and hasty investments done in the past.
Advise for common man: Do not go by the popular opinion, whatever the governments say. Do your own homework properly before making any investments.
