Saturn (Shani) has become direct today in the sign of Virgo (Kanya). Shani had begun its retrograde movement on 13th January 2010. Virgo is a friendly sign for Saturn and it shows some powerful effects in this dual natured sign. In the last four months, during which Saturn has been retrograde combined with the movement of Mars in debilitation, world has witnessed some big notable events.

From Gulf of Mexico oil fire leakage to the volcanic eruptions in Iceland. Air Travel taking a hit in Europe to the air crash in Mangalore, India. Terrorist activities of naxalites in India to the Red Shirts' agitation in Bangkok. Greece's economic problem and degradation of Euro. Every event has been unthinkable and unprecedented. Now, as Saturn moves in its normal motion the expected and desired results of the efforts made will be achieved.

Venus is in transit in Gemini since 15th May 2010 but it is has joined Ketu there and Saturn's tenth aspect was on this combination. This has brought about a recurrence of the volcanic ash problem in Europe grounding most of the flights there and causing losses to the airlines companies. Also, there have been an increase in near misses and serious accidents involving air and ground vehicles ever since Venus has entered Gemini.

Around the same time when Venus moved to Gemini, Sun also left its sign of exaltation and entered Taurus on 15th of May 2010. These two planetary changes gave a combined effect of an increase in heat wave condition in India and other nations. Till the time Venus was in Taurus, the temperatures were bearable. Now, when it enters the watery Cancer (Karka), on 9th June 2010, the rains of monsoon are expected to bring down the heat considerably.

Among the twelve moon signs and ascendants these transits will affect Aries (Mesh), Cancer (Karka), Scorpio (Vrishchik) and Capricorn (Makar) quite negatively. But, they will have positive beneficial effects on Taurus (Vrishabh), Gemini (Mithun), Virgo (Kanya), Tula (Libra) and Aquarius (Kumbh). The Libra born people may relocate to new homes or cities in near future and the Taurus born may be acquiring new residential property in coming two weeks.

The upcoming change of planetary sign is of Mercury (Budh) moving to Taurus from Aries on 6th June 2010. We will cover that in the next article.
